Why DR4 scores can differ
Links are weighted differently
Links from sites and subdomains that Ahrefs estimates get organic search traffic now count for more.
Subdomains get their own score
A subdomain is scored on the links pointing to it. It no longer takes the root domain’s rating.
Spam domains fall further
Domains Ahrefs labels as spam see much larger drops. Ahrefs says other domains stay relatively stable.
These are Ahrefs’ general changes. This tool cannot tell which of them moved a particular score. Read our guide to DR4 or Ahrefs’ announcement
